According to Biblical History the First Tsunami as we would call it today occurred when Yahweh pronounced judgement upon the Society in Noah’s day because in His eyes “the earth was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.” And God said unto Noah, “The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them from the earth.” [Genesis 6:12-13] And after seven days of the flood waters being on the earth, in the sixth hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.” [Genesis 6:10-12] In the selfsame day Noah and his family of seven entered the Ark. Interestingly, the divinely sanctioned flood waters rose about 22.5 feet way above the peak of Mount Ararat, which is located at the extreme Eastern end of Turkey, “on the borders of Iran, Armenia (formerly U.S.S.R.), and Nakchivan. This volcanic mountain rises 5,165 meters far above the plains that are at 2,000-3,000 feet high….” [http://www.noahsarksearch.com/ararat.htm]

The flood waters however, which had prevailed upon the earth had receded progressively within the period of 150 days, [Genesis 7:24] when it had abated. And to the glory of Yahweh, “The ark, with Noah, his family and the animals,” was high and dry “upon the Mountains of Ararat, where it had “rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, when the tops of the mountains were seen in the tenth month, on the first day of the month.” [Genesis 8: 3-4]

YAHWEH commands Noah to go forth

Now time had come for Noah and his family along with the animals to go forth from the Ark, for Yahweh had shared with Noah His will and purpose for Him and every living thing in terms of their procreation and preservation…. Thus Yahweh commanded Noah to, “Go forth of the ark.” [Genesis 8:16]

Noah built and altar unto the Lord

And in terms of acknowledging Yahweh, as Creator of heaven and earth, and establishing and transmitting his moral values and religious beliefs to his family and their future generations, Noah, after He went forth of the Ark, built and altar unto the Lord…. Therefore by this act Noah put Yahweh the Creator of heaven and earth first, then his family afterwards, which was the proper thing to do. Noah and family had seen the wrath of Yahweh upon the wicked, and they knew fully well that Yahweh had saved them from the flood waters because of His “grace,” which Noah had found in his sight. [Genesis 6:8] So Noah and family had known through experience how they ought to have behaved themselves in the eyes of Yahweh, and that He had exalted them based on the standard of His righteousness. And now the onus was Noah’s the head of the family, to rebuild a new society in righteousness, and to replenish the earth by every living thing that was with him. For Yahweh said to him:

“Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of, every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, that they might breed abundantly upon the face of the earth, and be fruitful and multiply upon the face of the earth.” [Genesis 8:17]

It is amazing

It is amazing to see how Yahweh preserved the individual known as Noah, and his family because “Noah found grace in His sight.” [Genesis 6:8]Yahweh is interested in the individual. It is believed that the genes in an individual are the bearers of heredity, and that is why an individual’s physical appearance has to do with his/her ancestors’ physical makeup.

About the individual’s personality

But an individual’s personality however, especially the emotional, social, and ethical traits are bearers not of heredity: rather, they are influenced by both the human and physical environment. And this is why most children, who are brought up in the right environment have a high self-esteem and are generally successful. But character building continues to the next level when an individual follows Christ the perfect example.

And here is where the Family Altar is most important for: keeping the family together, helping the family in living in fellowship with Yahweh the Creator of heaven and earth, and with Christ. It is said that a family that prays together stays together. The family is made stronger through the infallible Word that is taught by the head of the family, who officiates as Priest at the Family Altar. And in the absence of the male, the female plays this role. The infallible Word is the very foundation upon which the individual and the family are built, and it builds character in all who from the heart believe in Christ and adhere to the Word.

The spiritual ark is Christ

As Noah, who YHWEH permitted to pass through the storms of his day, but kept Him and his family safe in the ark, likewise today, individuals and families, who go through their daily storms of life should not go through them alone, no, not when Yahweh has provided a spiritual ark which is Christ His Son.

I therefore urge the survivors…

I therefore urge you, my beloved reader, and the survivors of hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Jose and those of future hurricanes, to seek shelter also in Christ our spiritual ark. And now that the flood waters have receded in some parts in Texas, the Caribbean Islands, Cuba and Florida and elsewhere, and survivors are contemplating to rebuild, do make sure that you start a family altar first, and invite the family and others, who may be around you, and pray and teach them the ways of Yahweh and of Christ. In doing so you will be creating a new generation in Christ and fruits of righteousness, by the grace of Yahweh.

Pray by faith against the ills of our societies, namely, violence and crime, domestic and drug abuse, suicide and juvenile delinquency…, and that our young people would adhere to the Word.

Again, the Family Altar is a powerful tool you may use to prayer for each member of your family gathered around it, others too, and to ensure that every member whether at home or abroad is safe in Christ Jesus, covered with His blood, and protected from the entrapments in our societies and in the world as a whole.

If every family starts a Family Altar and prays fervently for their sons and daughters, and especially for those who may have become entangled with the law already, we should see a significant decrease in crime at all levels in our societies, and an increase in harmonious living among all peoples in our various societies, for we have the power to create such an environment, in Jesus’ name.
