Topic: What, or who comes first: The Tradition from our Fathers: God our Creator and His righteousness which is by Faith!!!—by Pastor: Elder Wilfred A. Wilson Guy #3: 08: 06
Definition:
- Tradition−A collective of original thoughts, and norms of a people which are handed down from one generation to the other perpetually. Let’s see what Wikipedia and others say.
- A traditionis a belief or behavior passed down within a group or society with symbolic meaning or special significance with origins in the past.[1][2] Common examples include holidays or impractical but socially meaningful clothes (like lawyers’ wigs or military officers’ spurs), but the idea has also been applied to social norms such as greetings. Traditions can persist and evolve for thousands of years—the word “tradition” itself derives from the Latin tradere literally meaning to transmit, to hand over, to give for safekeeping. While it is commonly assumed that traditions have ancient history, many traditions have been invented on purpose, whether that be political or cultural, over short periods of time. Various academic disciplines also use the word in a variety of ways. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tradition]
- Theology
- (among Jews) body of laws and doctrines, or any one of them, held to have been received from Moses and originally handed down orally from generation to generation.
- (among Christians) a body of teachings, or any one of them, held to have been delivered by Christ and His apostles but not originally committed to writing. http://www.dictionary.com/browse/tradition
Message
Scripture: “For as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things such as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but by the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish.” [1 Peter 18-19]
Of Paramount Importance
Fellow Inward Jew in Christ, it is good in Yahweh’s sight that we have prayerfully adopted His already established and continuing and living Tradition by faith in Christ, which is based on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophet with Jesus Christ Himself being the Chief Corner Stone: in whom we being individual building blocks fitly framed together by the Holy Spirit, may grow up into a Holy Temple in the Lord. Such a tradition in Christ originated in Him who is within us, individually and collectively is very necessary in order for us to genuinely develop that sense of inner pride and deep feeling that we are truly a People with a past, which can be traced back to over two millennia. A rich past— the teachings of which we bring into the present that we may be guided and molded as a People thereby, even as we move forward toward maturity in Christ. A rich past— the teachings of which will bind us together in His love that Christ might be reflected in all aspects of our daily life, namely, physical, mental, social and spiritual: and in the life of our future generation as we transmit our achievements to them, in Jesus’ name. If you believe this say Amen. OK, Yahweh heard you.
Tradition can be both good and bad depends on its nature and purpose. By nature I mean cultural: national, tribal, religious, linguistic or political or intellectual just to mention a few.
Man-made tradition
In a dialogue, on “Defilement”, with the hypocritical religious group, namely the Scribes and Pharisees which were of Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ our Example, in response to their question:
Scribes and Pharisees: “Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the Elders?”
Jesus the Christ: “Why do you also transgress the commandments of God with your traditions? For God commanded, saying, honor thy father and thy mother
And,
He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
But you say, whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, it is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightiest be profited by me; and honereth not his father or his other he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect with you tradition.
Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying:
“These people draweth neigh unto me with their mouth, and honereth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” [Matthew 15:1-11]
End of dialogue
Hear and Understand
Subsequently Jesus the Christ called the multitudes and said unto them, “Hear, and understand: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out the mouth, this defileth a man.” [Matthew 15:10-11]
It is essential that we lay aside man-made Tradition that are not in line with the Word of God!!! Put them just where they belong (i.e., under the feet of Jesus) if we truly want to be liberated and to move forward unto the next level in Christ Jesus.
Apply the Word to your situation for positive result/s by faith
Now, let us identify and cast out every man-made tradition that has taken root within us and perhaps is controlling our minds, in the name of Jesus the Christ. Next, let us ask Yahweh to fill our minds with His Word and every vacuum within us by His Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name. Having done that, let’s:
“Standfast in the liberty wherein Christ has set us free: and be not entangled again in the yoke of bondage!!!” [Galatians 5:1]
Blinded and bound by practicing the Old Testament Tradition of their Fathers
The law of Moses; and good works for righteousness is a Tradition of the Fathers of the Old Testament that is still practiced to this date. And circumcision of the flesh is an essential practice not necessarily because of health reasons which in some cases are understood, but because of their religious beliefs. As a result, this practice makes whosoever does it “a debtor to do the whole law.” [Galatians 5: 3; 11 Corinthians 3:12-15]
Concerning the Law of Moses, my Beloved, for as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse, for it is written:
“Cursed is everyone that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.” [Galatians 3:10]
Again,
- For it was not possible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins,” [Hebrews 10: 4] and the time had come for change to the Old Testament religious system, and to bring an end to the Law for righteousness, which had lived out its purpose.
- But the scriptures make it abundantly clear when it says, “But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, the man that doeth them shall live in them.” [Galatians 3:11-12]
Again,
a. Those still under the Law “being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God,” even Jesus Christ. ”For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness” to every person among the Jewish multi-racial Community who believes today. [Romans 10:3-4]
b. You see Yahweh declares mankind righteous only upon the basis of Jesus’ death: so refusing to believe and receive Jesus Christ in one’s heart and life, and to live for Him daily makes it impossible for the unbeliever to receive the ascribed status of “righteous of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ.” It is written:
“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the Law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
“But now the righteousness of God is without the Law is manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them who believe: for there is no difference. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified free by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation (substitution)through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. To declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” [Romans 3:21-27]
Finally, my Beloved, it is noteworthy that the above mentioned scriptures have neutralized all their boasting about the “Law of works for righteousness”: and have certainly brought into spotlight the Law of faith by which all, irrespective of: race, pigmentation of their skin and the texture of their hair, nationality, political affiliation, social status and religious persuasion, just to mention a few: may be saved provided that we all put our trust in Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins, by faith. It is written:
“Where is the boasting then? It is excluded. By what Law? Of works? Nay: but by the Law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the Law.”[Romans 3:27-28]
This is the Word of God. May Yahweh richly bless you.
Break free… Believe in Jesus and receive the righteousness of God by faith.
Beloved, If you are a seeker of truth and you desire to be redeemed of your sins, the law of works for righteous cannot save you because it is not of faith, and by continuing in it there is no justification for you in the sight of Yahweh. This simply means that you will remain in your sins.
Now, I take this opportunity to point you to Jesus Christ the promised Prophet through whom we shall be saved if we believe and receive him into our hearts by faith. Christ is the promised SEED in Whom shall all the Nations be blessed: this is a promise Yahweh had made to our father Abraham. [Galatians 3:21-27]
And this promise was made about 430 years before the Law of Moses was given. Therefore if “there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scriptures had concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe….” [Galatians 3:21-22]
Come to Christ today! No, don’t turn away from Him! He is our only joy and hope and peace!
Beloved, prayerfully consider and act positively on the Word today, in Jesus’ name. Amen. And may Yahweh by His Spirit guide you in your decision making too, when it comes to your salvation, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
May God richly bless you.
