The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men

His resurrection on the third day, that is, after being buried in the heart of the earth for seventy two (72) hours, was a fulfillment of “the sign of the prophet Jonah.” [Matthew 12: 39] in A.D. 30 Jesus the Christ became that Sign! According to the scripture, upon the first day of the week (which commenced at sundown of the previous day,) very early in the morning, Mary Magdalene, the other Mary [Matthew 28: 1] went to see the Sepulcher and took spices with them which they had prepared. They, however, found the stone of the Sepulcher rolled away, but upon entering it they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus, and they were puzzled. Besides, the women became afraid when they saw two Angels who were on guard at the Sepulcher at that time, and as they bowed their faces to the earth, the Angels said to them:

“Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here He, but is risen: remember how He spake unto you when He was yet in Galilee, saying: The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.” And they remembered His words… [Luke 24:5-7]
